Make a room-by-room check
Start with the TV closest to the router, then try the one farthest away. Use the same channel for a fair comparison. A speed test is useful, but watching for a while can reveal interruptions a brief test misses.
If you have a game room or a patio TV, check reception with the usual doors closed. A mesh node needs a good link back to the router; a wired connection can be a useful test when practical. See how to narrow down buffering before replacing hardware.
Choose the number of streams you use together
Count a phone or tablet only when it plays at the same time as another screen. If two TVs and a phone are used together, compare three-device plans. More installed apps do not automatically mean more simultaneous connections.

Check Houston stations and international channels
Name the local station, sports broadcaster or international channel you want in your trial request. Spanish, Vietnamese, Hindi and Urdu are examples of language interests you can ask about, not a promise that every station in those languages is present.

Understand what happens when internet goes down
IPTV needs both a working device and an internet connection. A battery for your router will not keep TV running if the broadband network is down. A phone hotspot also depends on cellular coverage, data allowance and the ability to keep the phone charged.

Frequently asked questions
Will a larger broadband plan reach a distant TV better?
Not necessarily. Test reception and device performance first. Increasing the speed at the modem may not improve the signal in another room.
Can I move the setup to another home?
Ask support about location and connection rules, then test the internet at the new address. A previously working player does not establish that the new connection will be reliable.
