Samsung smart TV (Tizen)
- Press Home on the remote and open Apps.
- Select the search icon and search for IPTV or M3U.
- Choose a player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U playlist URLs and select Install.
- Open the app. Many Samsung players show a device ID or MAC address and a website where you enter your playlist from a phone or computer. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Enter the login details or M3U URL from your welcome email, then restart the app to load channels.
Some Samsung IPTV players charge a small one-time activation fee to the app developer. That fee goes to the app maker, not to your IPTV provider.
LG smart TV (webOS)
- Press Home and open the LG Content Store (called Apps on newer models).
- Search for IPTV and pick a player that supports M3U or Xtream Codes.
- Select Install, then open the app.
- Enter your login or playlist URL directly, or via the developer's website if the app shows a device ID.
- Add the EPG (guide) URL in the app settings if it does not load automatically.
Google TV and Android TV models
For a TV that actually runs Android TV or Google TV, check Google Play for a compatible player. The brand alone does not establish the operating system; check the model in Settings first. Full steps are in our Android TV guide.
Vizio and other TVs without a good player
- AirPlay: most Vizio SmartCast TVs support AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad. Set up IPTV on the phone (iPhone setup) and AirPlay to the TV.
- Chromecast: cast from an Android player that supports it.
- Plug in a stick: a Fire TV Stick or Google TV Streamer gives you supported player apps on any TV with HDMI.
Smart TV tips for smoother IPTV
- Connect the TV with an Ethernet cable. Most smart TVs have a port, and TV Wi-Fi chips are often weaker than a streaming stick's.
- Update the TV firmware in Settings > Support > Software Update (Samsung) or Settings > General > About this TV (LG).
- Turn off motion smoothing for sports if you notice artifacts; it can exaggerate compression blocks.
- If the TV is more than 5 years old and sluggish, compare its current app support with an external device before purchasing anything.
Before entering a playlist on a website
Some TV players ask you to activate a device through a website. Use the address shown in the genuine app and verify the developer. A playlist link may contain your account password, so do not paste it into an unrelated uploader. If the activation charge or website is unclear, ask support before continuing.
Before paying for a TV player
Some TV players require their own activation fee. Use any available app test period alongside your IPTV trial and check that the guide and remote work on your exact model. Add the app charge to the subscription price when comparing costs.
If you cannot find the player, send support the model number from the TV settings. A brand name alone does not identify the operating system or app store.
Frequently asked questions
Can I watch IPTV on a Samsung smart TV?
Yes. Install an IPTV player from the Samsung Apps store and enter your login or playlist URL.
Do I need a box for IPTV on a smart TV?
Not usually. Most smart TVs can run a player app. A stick is helpful on older TVs, Vizio models, or when you want the TiviMate guide experience.
Why does IPTV look worse on my TV than on my phone?
A big screen shows compression more clearly. Choose the FHD or 4K version of the channel and connect the TV by Ethernet.
